Squadron FAQ

Q: Will there be a flight group in my area?

A: Sure, as soon as someone in your area turns a vehicle into a spaceship in some way. Check the Map in the Members section: If there's a symbol in your area, somebody is nearby already. If not... we welcome new members.

Q: When and where is Celebration 2005 going to be?

A: April 21 - 24, 2005 - Indiana Convention Center - Indianapolis, IN. More Info

Q: What do I do to become a member?

A: Make a commitment to alter your vehicle, and let us know about it. You can either e-mail one of us, or post about it in RoadSquadron's Forum.

Q: How can people get on your good side forever and ever?

A: Well, I'm so very glad you asked! Contribute to the Squadron website. Write-ups, images, information, plans, images, ideas, images, help processing all the images... Oh, and pictures would help a lot, too. [So what if I've never actually been asked this particular question? Just thought it might be, you know: Informative.]

Road Squadron Information

The idea for a Squadron of Star Wars cars formed while I was giving my car its 'Red 5' paint job back in 1999. It was the logical progression, I thought. It also seemed impossibly far-fetched, as I'd never seen another spaceship car of any kind when I started my personal mess.
Little did I know that my little Tercel would cause such a stir in the Star Wars online community. Shortly after the car's website was advertised in the official Starwars.com Homing Beacon, I was accosted by a digital tidal wave of E-mail that didn't even start to ebb until about a month later. They were coming in faster than I could turn out replies. I think I was in some sort of shock.
But most shocking of all were the people who wrote me saying that I had inspired them to buy some auto-grade spraypaint and several rolls of blue masking tape. After holding dialogs with about a dozen of these, it dawned on me that a squadron of Star Wars cars might be possible after all. It was 3 in the morning when the name "Road Squadron" hit me, with the force of a well-lobbed brick. What can I say? That endless stream of E-mail and all the Mountain Dew that went with it must have made me a bit punchy.
Five years after the beginnings of the squadron, the site is now open for all spaceship car owners to show off their handiwork. I am well aware that there are many more potential RS cars out there than I know about, so please, contact me if you have one, or know of one that is not exhibited here.
Remember, this is all in good fun, and please drive safely. They know what we look like.
